Heh.
It seems like very... Typical dance, early dance. Doesn't make it bad, but I don't have very many things to say about it.
I did like the percussion, but there wasn't much progression, I suppose it's more of a traditional execution.

Whee
The mastering is a factor: The bass sort of caps the song toward the end.
I have to agree on the drum pattern, even though it is just right, there wasn't much variation.
There seemed to be too many sharp instruments that hindered the overall flow and intention of the song. Some instrument could've been converted to bass.
Otherwise, I think you might just have something.
eh up, i don't think i've ever had a review off of you. as mentioned previously masterin was done with ear fatigue straight after i mixed it, which aswe all know is a mistake. i don't know what to say about the sharp instruments, only the strings apply sharp notes maybe im missing something though.
anyways cheers for the informative review your comments have been taken onboard.
The right idea.
Like most other comments, it was muffled, but it was also well crafted.
The psychedelic guitar was a bit sharper and sounded a little out of place.
Otherwise, nice pace and it could suck someone in completely.
Thanks, glad you liked it sorta.
Not sure what you mean with the psychedelic guitar, was it the slide part? Or the lead, that did a little solo at the end?
Excellent
The buildup to the stabs is well devised in carrying out a mood, sort like the prerequisite: "Hey, we're chilling out because this is about to happen".
The stabs themselves are pretty simple, and the melody is something that must've taken you a while, but the way they are carried out is like a early and lost song to Jega or U-Ziq. They did a lot of this stuff.
The drum patterns are excellent and relentless, complimenting the melody and it's stabbiness. If you notice that whenever someone engineers breakcore or attempts to splice drums, they often hold no rhythm, they just splice randomly and come along patterns they like, which doesn't seem to be the case here: intentional insanity.
My only criticism is that you went off on a tangent of wackiness toward the end, for the sake of sound insane. Which is understandable, but the song you had the beginning had the perfect theme; the melonchaly of an emotional song and the speed of a screamo, if you had elaborated on that you would've blown people away.
Anyways, you're my favorite Pedro among Mancuso's, keep it up, I'm listening.
yo, thx for the review.
never heard of jega or u-ziq, will have to check them out. as for going off on a tangent, well i do get carried away a bit sometimes. i like tracks that seemingly have no traditional structure, it keeps me interested but i know this doesn't always work too well when i try it:) (not that thats gonna stop me lol)
yep,
;ped
Incredible.
People are going to wonder if you stole this!
I used to play Empire Earth, and it is very much in par with the music you would hear in it, not that it matters.
I loved the acoustics on the drums in the beginning, and the patterns.
The rest of the song did well with what it was given, and carried it out even better.
not much I can say right now, I apologize, but I thought I'd just through some comments in for now.
Awesome.
Wow, I've been too much of an inactive idiot not to review this.
I could tell right away how you patterned the beats and some idea how you made them, and it's very intricate and well placed, you probably put a lot of time in constructive and cropping them
Modest and simple plucks that form a flowy atmosphere,
A lot of people said it was short, I think it would've sounded amazing with some powerful bass blasts and more touch ups on the atmosphere.
But apart from that, it's awesome.
Holy crap-nuggets! - It's January 2007 and I never noticed, until now, that I left your comments unresponded!
I'm really sorry about that - I guess It slipped by.
Damn I wish that there were an easy way to tell when a track had a new review.
Pleeeeease forgive meeeeee!!!
Nice.
The intro is quite awesome, it's startling, not much I would suggest in changing there. But if you notice, when the drums come in at :12 seconds, the background has a slight bass, it sounds like an organ, which is very atmospheric, I would recommend elaborating on it's warmth.
Let's detail those wicked drums, get down and dirty with those symbols, I can tell you tried to create variation, but because there are so many symbols, you might want to deconstruct the percussional symbols and leave the snare, the bass, and maybe a few slams. You can also jump up the bass on those bass beats, but don't use them liberally though, that's what'd suck the life out of the drums.
Nice FX, it just doesn't seem to last much, try putting in more spacing, like putting a few echoed snaps, then stop the drums and let the melodies introduce themselves, then bring the drums full on.
That's all I can come up with.
Thnx for the rev!
There's only one problem: I lost the file :( My computer has been emptied a time ago and now a lot of shit is gone.I would work on it, but I can't :(
Inspired.
It definitely has an ambient theme. The beats are a concoction of bleeps and boops, led by a snare, bassbeat, and twinkle.
You definitely knew what you wanted in the song, and I think a lot of it paid off on the buildup on 1:08.
The beats seem to drag out, relying on the melody progression, rather then elaborating on how well the beats mended with it.
Kudos for not using very many familiar instruments,
and I dug Coffee and Cigarettes.
Excellent.
I haven't reviewed anyones audio in years.
Typical instrumental, chunky, disturbing piece, which seems quite underrated as it is.
I noticed you utilized the Organ in this one quite well, as it goes along in segments it carries its theme nicely.
All in all it went from sounding like a Danny Elfman opening to something that belonged in 28 Days Later by John Murphy.
The mastering is quite well, but the Violin/Cello sounds aren't that loud at :50, which really gives the song it's touch. The chunky beats weren't that clear, or loud, and didn't seem to vary that much, but the concept is impressive.
Good luck to you.
Thanks for a great review Erkie. I'll definitely have another listen at :50. I have since turned the drums up, but I question whether they are a positive influence on the song or not...oh well.
You bastard.
Are you intentionally after my heart with these beat mixing skills?
I think the beat should've been as clear as the tabla, but you seem to have it a more bassier scale, which I cant tell if it's a good thing or a bad. I think it meshes well, but not so much with the beats.
You're not afraid of those melodies either, you really mess with them, which is another welcome addition, I just don't think you brought them out as much as you should've.
Overall, this is impressive, and I think I might have to verse you. Just let me know if you're up to it.
Ha.. Thanks - I always like reading your reviews - I guess I do tend to make some mistakes here and there while playing with the levels - I usually go too soft on certain parts - you're gonna verse me huh? OK - I'll bite - drop me a line sometime...
Thanks again - I really appreciate it!
