Ah.

Not bad for a transition, I'm a big fan of Big Beat, so I have good senses toward slower songs, the build up with good and the final version should be just as good.

My only criticism is that you completely lose the orchestra somewhere in the song and let everything else do it's stuff.

I could use some help from you, I need some reviews from fellow artists in different genres, maybe you can check out some of my good stuff later.

DJRunaway responds:

:) K... But I "lost the orchestra"? Dude, the orchestra concists of 50 men... They all need a drink once in a while ;)

Hmm...

I can definitely feel the ambient trip hop set up, but it is a little over powering, I can tell you put a lot of construction into this, which is great commitment to a song.

Although, the use of trip hop is a lot more diverse and dense, this is more ambient dub then anything.

Its definitely not too thick, but I do respect an artist who can see the beauty in slower big beat then fast drum 'n bass. Not to say it's bad, but it's good to see something new.

It's better then some of my earlier producings. Keep on Keepin' on.

staticnoise responds:

Awesome!

Yeah, i make some other stuff that i'd really call triphop, with this i more didn't know what genre to call it.

thanks, i'll go check out your stuff.

Well balanced loop.

I can see this being used for menus and screens, energetic and funky.

xBlanksterx responds:

Thanks for review!
I really didnt make this loop while thinking how to use it in some flash. But maybe it can be used for "menus and screens".

Okay.

I liked the melody, the execution was interesting, I'm not big on trance/dance, but I think it'd do good.

It kind of reminded me of a style I was trying to achieve, check out some of my stuff sometime, maybe we can talk.

Rucklo responds:

I´m not big on trance/dance either, I really don´t know what I´m doing when I do stuff, like, u know... well, I dont :D
I´ll check ur stuff out, n let´s have a chat!

Not bad.

Despite recycled melodies, drums, it is a dance remix. There were effects and nosies that were original and took out the best of the melody, but there was something about it, it was too short, you must not have had deep access to the voices.

Whatever.

Extra points because starcraft rocks. Not bad, your other stuff is pretty good.

DJRunaway responds:

Yeah, SC-voices rule :) Anyway, thanks for the review!

Nice effects. It lead to a nice presentation.

Unlike most techno songs here, this one actually shifted unnoticably like mood music, creating a song worth hearing.

Some of the sounds lingered, and it kind of reminded me of game music. Yes'm.

Nice work.

brutallyhandsome responds:

Almost 20 years later...Thanks!

Better then my remixing skills.

I took your advice and looked at another song, pretty good work for nothing but scratch, it held a good melody, and you used all resources to your advantage. Sometimes I'd have moments where I thought it'd rocket off into something different.

Good work.

crud responds:

yeah, i was going for a purist movement with my gameboy. going back to the roots and whatnot. although adding some sick ass beats would have been awesome...

Too long.

Everything was well sequenced, I give you that, but there are also other problems I couldn't help but spot, some of bass and other sounds were set too high, and this song is far too long for the few loops you had.

Otherwise, I would call this a regular techno song, nothing blew my mind here, because I make crazy music. Invest in something a little more energitic and use more loops. You have the skill, no doubt.

crud responds:

since the song i submitted before this was too quiet, i tried to counteract it by turn this one way the hell up....guess i wasn't paying too much attention to my bleeding ears ;)

i think the things you mentioned are valid, the songs does go on for a while without changing much, just slight changes, but i dunno, i really liked how it felt, calming me inside and out, i really couldn't let go of it.

dont worry, if you didn't like this one, as you might have noticed, there is plenty more songs for you to investigate and possibly enjoy! keep on loopin my brother!

Good for a loop.

The drums were nice, I could tell a lot of effort went into critiquing the notes, but it could make my ears ring after a while, because the snare shrieked with the main melody.

It is good when you get the loops going solo, offers a good range.

Sometime it helps to have the bassline nothing like the main melody itself, anything, just nothing the same. And the drums need to also hold more of that bass feel. Get a groove like that and it'll go with a lot of groups. Thumbsideways.

ConnerB responds:

Hey, thanks for the advice. Will definately do that.

Over-Eager

Some will say this is a total disgrace, but I'm giving you a slight chance because you have the capability of being able to create a good song.

The voice and the song itself match well but the volume levels need fixing, and it's way too fruity.

I gave you a high diversity factor. That's about it.

Good luck my friend.

ABob responds:

HAHAHAH thanks!
