O

Silly me. I just let this rot in my PM box for ten days.

The soft spinning bells pretty much set the mood for a very glidey and soothing song.

My only criticism is that the soft, slow beat could've been a lot sharper, it just seemed to be a little overwhelmed with epic instruments.

Melody wise, this'd get a lot of praise, it simmers at a sort of dissonance, giving you what you want only slightly then taking it away, then building back up.

Definitely a song to sleep to.

Nice work.

WinTang responds:

Thanks! Drum comment noted, I'll be using the Cubase drum map a lot, so any criticism welcome :)
Glad you appreciated it!

Aayye.

The bass just right for that jump up effect, you could've pushed it but it was pretty good as it was.

Short and to the point.

Syntrus responds:

thx

Wickedness.

The whole use of instruments was very unique indeed, this shouldn't be underrated under any circumstance.

The warped chopped beat boxing layered with clinks and clanks and strings, the beatboxing was tough to hear among the sharper instruments, but you had some sense of it's bass and it's presence, which made for the most enjoyment.

The pizzicato-type thing that came in really wasn't in tone with the rest of the song, but it flowed.

The middle eastern flare and the stabby guitars made for an awesome transition, sounded a lot like godspeed.

Indeed a two sided song well worth anyone's time.

thanks for the review,
i surpose it is a little bit godspeedy, squished up tho, godspeed buildups happen over about 10 mins:) i intend to get my violin restrung and do some proper godspeed stuff 1 day.
glad u listened and enjoyed:)

Wow.

I heard the intro on the unofficial podcast and I had to get my copy.

It is a little choppy, but it is smooth. The mastering on some of the sounds causes a roughness, you can hear a distortion.

It does go off on tangents, but the smoothness makes up for it.

Nice work.

VegetarianMeat responds:

Thanks for the construcive criticism :) It helps a lot when I'm making a new song.

Unknown sensations and feelings.

Chilly and mellow soundscapes that flow up and down and forward and backwards.

That was, before it decided to show you a new light.

The positioning of the drums were good, but they were damn sharp. The butchered and cauterized effects made for some good compliments to it's creepiness. The patternization was also well constructued, definitely experimental, but only a central rhythm around the fx.

Other then that, nice song.

snoballandthmonyshot responds:

thanks for the review,
i really liked the intro for this, realized i should make it into a full song but was rushed and not very well executed. that bass synth is god awful. never mind:)

Good effort.

The percussion got flooded out at the bass at the beginning, which sounds cool, but is usually a sign that you're pushing too hard on the bass.

The stabs were also a bit too bright, you couldn't really hear the lower stabs, only just the implication that they were there, so the effect took effort to find.

Pretty simple, yet effective.

Dj-Fanta5t1c responds:

i think... your right! if i had that flp then i would edit it. i guess this song is just a lost cause now =P

Blech.

NG has no room for this classical shit.

ROFL.

I enjoyed the pauses, but I could hear the hiss of mediocre recording instruments.

It was very monotonous and conveyed a modest emotional value. I didn't know whether to feel empowered or humble.

You've got some idea, I'll give you that, and I think you'll do well in the future.

Otherwise, I'm sure you're already aware of the song's strong points.

:(

Lol. I enjoyed the pauses as well, every time I listen to this piece they seem like longer pauses though lol. I wouldn't have anything to do with the actual recording lol.

I wasn't trying to make it passionate or exciting or moving really. I was just experimenting with C# minor one day lol.

Thank you for the review :)

RAAAHHH

The demons of the underworld shot out the seed of pestilence to rocket through the ground and rupture up into the sky gallons of feces and sharp objects that would penetrate the skulls of radical heathens who walk this earth and sieze the mighty axe as a useless tool of self-proclaimed demigods, so that they may forever burn in damnation and the skin melted from their own flesh will make a suit of armor for the demons who return to the surface to survey the gruesome acts of their brethen and seed.

My only criticism is that the percussion was sharp and danced around, which hurt the eyes when attempting to turn it up and crack walls.

DarKsidE555 responds:

Most AWESOME review I've ever recieved! Cool beans! Fucking aces man! Yeah, you're right with the thing you said. Wasn't a serious tune after all, just wanted to test my sound. Glad you still could dig it! \m/

Soft?

This song was very mastered, almost a little smothered, even the percussion was smoothed out. This made for a more enjoyable soundscape, which you took complete advantage of.

nightvision responds:

Diversity in this song was a problem, I should have done more with the bassline. Thanks for the comment on mastering. I'm still trying to draw the line when it comes to "too much".

Whee

The mastering is a factor: The bass sort of caps the song toward the end.

I have to agree on the drum pattern, even though it is just right, there wasn't much variation.

There seemed to be too many sharp instruments that hindered the overall flow and intention of the song. Some instrument could've been converted to bass.

Otherwise, I think you might just have something.

pitbulljones responds:

eh up, i don't think i've ever had a review off of you. as mentioned previously masterin was done with ear fatigue straight after i mixed it, which aswe all know is a mistake. i don't know what to say about the sharp instruments, only the strings apply sharp notes maybe im missing something though.

anyways cheers for the informative review your comments have been taken onboard.
